The Bill of Material is an important feature for any organization that manufactures or processes items. It defines what are the raw materials and the processes required for manufacture of the product.

It can also help in determining the relevant stock and purchase for building of the product.

Defining the Assembly

The assembly of the product is defined in the Bill of Material. It defines the components of the product and the processes required for their assembly.

Stock adequacy by BOM

Based on the Bill of Material, the relevant stock for building of the product can be determined.

Purchase by BOM

If the stock is not adequate, then the purchase of the raw materials can be made based on the BOM. It also shows the cost of the raw materials based on the materials available on HyperLog.Net Market Place.

Building by Bill of Material

New product item can be build based on the Bill of Material defined.

If we have sufficient stock, we can move to the next step of building the item or we can purchase by BOM as illustrated above.

Finalize Build

We can initiate the build. The components inventory are reduced and added as constituents to the item of the product build which can be seen from the Composition.

In the next release, collaboration between the suppliers and the purchasers will be enabled for defining and updating the Bill of Material.
